It is a pretty neat idea, and they are for sale now...the price is stupid though. Don't know that I'd ever buy one even though I wear a full face 100% of the time

Your head can't tell the difference getting slammed into race asphalt or a public street. It tends to react the same either way.

... and people always seem to think of worst case scenarios in regard to wearing a helmet. In a severe crash, you may destroy so many other body parts, whether or not a helmet might save your life is a crap shoot. Where they really work well is in low and no speed crashes. Falling over on your bike while sitting still, a knock to your noggin can kill you or turn your brain into scrambled eggs... and it happens quite often. In the same situation with a helmet, it's just an embarrassing situation.

And in rugby, we don't even wear helmets.

I think that would bug me.
I have 3 novelties and 1 full face depending on what I'm doing.
Jamming on the HWY or in the spring with tons of bugs your gonna find the FF on my head most of the time. I use the beanies for bar hopping and running around town............and if CA didn't have a helmet law Id do that with my chrome dome in the wind.

This came up on my old sport bike forum. I love the concept, but not the idea of if you went down in it, having shards of glass flying around in your helmet, or plastic for that matter.

What happens when the car behind you puts on it;s high beams. or if the sun is setting behind ou on an evening ride. The helmet should have a little flip down that blocks mirror when you don't want it

I think that would be really distracting and cause more problems then its worth. Mainly if you were in a situation where you had to think quickly which way to go.
