I've always been a fan of the rat-rod look...guess thats the direction I'm taking my bike.
And I don't want to polish metal. Sure chrome is fairly durable, frequent washing goes a long way, but if you want it to look good it need polish. I prob spend an hour at least once a month just on my spoke wheels. They'll go to **** if I don't.
Can wait to powder those...

All right; The answer I was lookin' that nobody really touched on was the "outlaw" look. The new "blacked out" look is just that. It similates to emulate the "outlaw look". Not black bikes mind you but blacked out bikes.
Much easier to become part of the crowd and fit in on a black bike than a red one particularly useful if you're trying to blend in, as everyone rides a black bike right?
The cops say hey did you get a look at that person.
The crowd says yeah it was a guy on a black bike.
And at that I'll leave it that.

Are you kidding me?....won't a sidearm accomplish that "outlaw look" more effectively...regardless of the color bike your riding? People used to say "my bike is an expression of my individuality"....looks like there are no more individuals riding anymore....more like a bunch of "me too's". Just like going overboard with chrome can ruin a bikes look with the lack of contrast, it can be done with black too. IMO most blacked out bikes come with too much black from the factory. They took the blank slate look to the extreme.
