Balanced exhaust??
I just gotta ask.. Whats with the exhaust equalizer on bikes? Do most aftermarket pipes have the equalizer or are they straight independent pipes?
I don't have alot of experience with wrenching on bikes but I want to know why they MoCo ties the exhaust together. It cant be better for performance that way...can it????

Moco used to have a crossover on the older bikes. Maybe it's the same concept.
Headman Headers says: The flow splits in the crossover junction, eliminating firing order pressure discrepancies between the right and left banks of exhaust manifolds or headers. In turn, horsepower increases no matter the RPM, and volumetric efficiency and power improve at all speeds.

It is also for sound , the balance tube does something to lessen the db output , when you tie the 2 cylinder pulses together it has a slight deadening effect , at least thats the theory anyways. My guess is that is the main reason Harley does this.
