Same here. I got to keep my eyes on the cagers and other surroundings not some gauge that might be cool to the local commandos.

There's a lot of torque going on in the lower gears...I don't think it's *always* obvious which one you are in completely from the feel of the bike around town. Before putting on the instruments with the gear indicator, I went around a corner I usually do in 2nd in 3rd by mistake. The power pulses coming out of the corner sheared off four belt pulley bolts. So I like having it there as a comfort thing now. In any case, it looks cool...which is more than enough reason to put something on a harley.

I used to have a freakin' Escort that had a "shift" light on it that told you when to shift. Maybe you should put one of those on your bike as well. Or maybe a voice like the elevator in the hotel that I'm in. "Going up, sixth floor, going down, lobby." Maybe a Hondamatic would be the ultimate!

Lol strange how the most critical people have baggers...don't they come with an air temperature gauge? On a vehicle where you're..you know, out in the air already?

A Road King don't have none of that trash. Bags, yes, but air temp gauges? That went out with Kal Kustom curb feelers and fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror - I hope! To each his own and glad you like your ride.

Nope, no air temp gauge on FLHT's, either. Sorry.

As a recent 1st time H-D owner, I wish I had a tachometer AND a gear indicator on my 2010 FLSTFB. Sure, I am doing just fine without and loving my scooter. But a tach is coming for sure. And perhaps the HealTech indicator. Anyway, y'all are right. Its a life, liberty, pursuit of happiness issue. Its my bike!

My thoughts as well. No need to over complicate stuff.
