Believed the weathermen and weatherwoman this morning. It was supposed to be a cloudy day with a 20% to 30% chance of rain today. I got all 30% the whole 250 miles. Should be a law requiring a disclaimer being run the whole time these people are talking. It was cold and miserable there and back.

On the computer I really like weatherunderground. It has an hourly link that is usually pretty accurate the morning of the forecast. I have weatherbug on my cellphone that works pretty well.

Several years ago Gary Amble on channel 5 said we were going to have the snow storm of the century here in Missouri. People were rushing out buying shovels, salt, etc. It turned out it didn't snow at all and the next day you could tell Gary didn't know what to say and was embarrassed that he totally missed it. Every since that forecast I changed his name to Gary liar it just seemed to fit him better.

Our weather guy totally missed the forecast for 3 days in a row. I sent him an email and told him that if he couldn't do any better than what he had been doing to just look out the window and tell us what he saw.

I got a reply from the chief meteorologist asking for the exact date, time, and location of the weather events so they could adjust their radar. Guy was dead serious. I emailed him back what he wanted and away they went.

I always thought I should have been a meteorologist. It is the only profession I know of where you can be wrong 100% of the time and still keep your job. I do realize it is not an exact science, but at least say that while you are giving the report. The way they present the weather, makes it sound like it is written in stone.

With all the computers, weather aircraft, years of research and weather patterns, and off shore weather ships (I live on the left coast) one would think that they could at least get close.
