Default How easy is it to replace turnsignals with leds?

I want to replace the stock bulbs with something brighter and cooler looking but dont want to have to add any other components, just the bulbs. Is this possible? where would I get these at? I want to do the tail light too, I have a sportster.thanks

couple of ways to go with this. there are replacement bulbs that can be used or there are LED signals. with the LED signals you will need to install an equalizer in the system.

the bulb LED's have a cluster of LED's where the regular glass and element are. There are two styles, if the bulb goes straight in the top of the bulb has the LED cluster. if the bulb goes in from the side, the cluster is on the side of the bulb. Front ones are dual element style so you can have your running lites (1157) rears are single element (1034).

I've seen them at Rally's and I have seen them in Whitney catalog. I sure you can google for LED BULBS. I seem to remember prices around $10 and up. I won't do business with Whitney since they burned me several years ago when they went into bankruptcy, they took my money and ran.

I purchased red led 1156 bulbs @ autozone for $17. & the hd brake light kit. works just fine no need for the load eq.

this all depends on what year your bike is. the 06 and newer don't need the load eq.

Duece you misunderstood me. LED bulbs and LED signals are two different animals

I went to a place on line and they quoted me 183$ for leds for the front and back turn signals and they said I had to have a load eq, even though I have a 2006.. that is pricey, I might have to check into jc whits or autozone .

The spendy ones are actual circuit boards with LEDs on it. They plug in where the old bulbs did. They are the best way to go. They have the replacement bulbs that have LEDs in them (they look more like the old bulbs). I don't think they work near as well but they are cheaper. My honest opinion???? Cough up the cash and do it right. I run the Kuryakyn LED turn signals and LED laydown taillight with the run/turn/stop modulator. It is an excellent setup.
