street bob or .....night train?!!!
Hi guys,
I have now a terrible dilemma to face and I am sorry if you have already heard this subject on the forum, but I want to really have your opinions on this matter:
I want to trade my Sportster(great bike but...etc), for a bigger bike. I will use this bike mainly for small trips to town, work, and very few long trips.
I really have made my mind for the StreetBob, but a good friend of mine is getting the nighttrain and seeing it got me all f+"cked up! I ma not sure anymore for the Bob and loving more and more the Train!
I really would hate to trade it in a couple of years.
Here (in Switzerland) it is hard to try all bike models. I KNOW THIS WOULD BE EASIER FOR DECIDING.
I would appreciate any of your comments, especially people who tried both. Especially the handling.
Thank you,
Ride safe

If it was me I'd go with the Bob. Just my preference between the two. But they're both beautiful bikes so I can see your dilema. Good luck with your choice!

Both great bikes and with the new TC96, six-speed and the 200mm rear tire, the Nightrain is even more appealing. The too-smooth, counterbalanced "B" motor of the Softail line just does nothing for me though. Plus the Bob rides better, handles better and is more than a couple thousand dollars less.

If yer droolin on the NT looks, you probably want to go that route. The Dyna will handle better and is a little lighter, the softy does not shake at idle. I have a softtail-style Outlaw and the 'Bob, and I like them both for different reasons. 'Bob rides nicer, Outlaw hauls ***.

Go for the Bob. You'll love it.
It handles great and it vibrates sweet when idle.
I personally don't like the 21" front wheel on the NT.
The SB will guide you smoothly through the hairpins over there in Switzerland.
So bad we haven't got those here in Holland.

If it were me, it'd be the Bob; however, your customization options are much more with the Night Train because everything is made for softails. Good luck with the choice.

depends on what you like dude, I bought a night train in 05' and now I've been shoppin for a bob cause I like the looks of that pewter denim so well on the bob. only thing I DON'T like about the bob is the 19 front wheel. it's all preference dude. my night train is AWSOME.....I may just stick with it.

I have not riden the BOB, but I love my night train. I know people say the bob would handle better, but with the drag bars you can just push the NT into any corner and have total control. I would think the apes would be tougher? Personaly I would never think of trading mine for the BOB. Maybe a Heritage.

Don't really have an opinion, but if you want to make your friend real jealous, take a look at the '07 Night Rod Special. That's a sweet looking bike.
