Okay. It's been thirty years since I forked a Harley. I've scoured the HD '07 site. I've been to the local dealer. I've narrowed down to Super Glide Custom or Low Rider. I don't see a lot of differences and the one's I do see are minor. I'm looking for information on differences from those that have experienced both bikes. If there aren't any major differences other than looks then say so. I was considering the softtails but I like the rounded rear fender on the dynas more than the rear fender on the softtails. Thanks in advance for your opinions and, don't worry, if you want to make a few jokes in the process, I don't mind.

 

Don't know if it matters to you or not but I'd get the one with forward controls. I find them much more comfortable.

 

I have the Super Glide 06 custom and love it! I am 5' 7" and the mid-controls work for me. 1200 miles riding it in 4 weeks and no disappoinments.

 

Mainly cosmetic differences between the SuperGlide and Low Rider.

Low Rider has tach, Super Glide doesn't.

Low Rider has highway pegs standard. (if you get forward controls, the highway pegs come off)

Low Rider has handlebar risers.

A little more chrome on Low Rider.

Low Rider sits about an inch lower.

Different engine color.


Both are great bikes.

Super glide has a little less bling than the Lowrider, other than that there is not much difference. Same frame, same engine, same tires etc. 3,000 difference in price.

If you can live without a chrome and black engine, tach and a couple of other shiny things, the Super Glide is a great value.

Which one fits your height, leg length, etc better? They are very similar, but you will find you fit them differently.

As far as softail vs Dyna, the Dynas rear suspension works better if care about comfort.
