Try dabbing it with any clearcoat. It seals any cracks in the chrome.

Not to be critical but you know what all that chrome does in sunlight right, at certain times of the day the reflection is going to be burning your eyeballs right out of your head.
Good one Stevent! Guess that's my problem.

Personally I would prefer chrome..as others have said buff them up

Just get some chrome caps for them and forget about it. Much cheaper than chrome or polished bolts.

I'm with you guys on working on my own bike. First Harley and even after I screw it up at least once I still save money. Put a buffing wheel on a bench grinder use some polishing compound and no one will be the wiser.
