Great Southern Bike Expo
Only one week left until the Bike Expo!
The Evil Biker Gang has been planning this trip all winter (in Mississippi, that's February 2nd thru February 24th). We held Church last week and voted on it. Bruh Ray wasn't there, so we voted to take his truck and trailer as a sag wagon.
Miz Roo didn't want to ride two hours on the Iron Maiden, shlep around the fairgrounds trying to keep up with everybody, and then ride another two hours back home. So we decided to put her bike on the trailer and let her drive the sag wagon out to Jackson. Since Bruh Ray was absent, the motion passed unanimously.
A plan formed. We're gonna leave the farm around 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 27th, driving south on 15 all the way to Newton. There, we'll drive right past the interstate and pick up old Highway 80. That's the slow and lazy route, with good scenery and almost no traffic.
About five miles later, we'll realize that most of us have to go back to Newton and get money from an ATM.
Eventually, we'll get moving again. By 11:30, we should be near enough to Jackson to stop and get some food at a sit-down restaurant that won't cause diarrhea halfway home.
We should roll into the fairgrounds about 12:30. Bikes! Vendor booths! Dyno tuning! Highway Patrol bike competition!
Photos and videos galore!
At 4:30, we get back on the road. The return trip will take us north to the Natchez Trace, where we can bask in the afternoon sun at 50 miles per hour all the way to Carthage. Then we take the winding roads back to Philadelphia, with maybe just a little snack stop at the Choctaw's casino.
Finally, we get home in one piece, do the barn chores, and crack open a beer.
