Default Rear signal lights to brake light conversion problem

I bought the HD module to change the signal lights on my Road King to brake lights and I can't get it to work. It already has a l.e.d. blinking brake light when the brake is applied. Do I need another harness of some type to get both to work?

No other wiring harness should be needed. It's a plug-n-play setup. I put one my Ultra, took about 3 minutes, 2 of which were taken up removing the seat, and it worked like a charm. The connector was at the very front of the rear fender, just behind the battery. Seeing as they're both in Harley's touring model lineup, I'd assume your Road King would be in the same spot?

Do you have LED's on the turn signals? I've gotten mixed messages as to whether or not the HD T/R/S module with work with LED's. My impression was that had more to do with the T/S function than anything else but I'm not sure about that.

Good luck,
Steve R.

I put one on my 09 SG and it was plug and play with the exception of one wire. I had to connect it into the existing plug in a specific number on the receptacle. the number was on the instructions with the kit. It was a HD kit as well

HD signal lights to brake don't work with LED's it only like stock blubs.

If your using LED's you might need a load equalizer. See www.badlandsmotorcycleproducts.com

If you already have a blinking brake light it sounds like there is another module in the string & the HD adapter may be on the wrong side of it. The HD unit should work with LEDs without a problem. The load equalizer is only for the security light staying on or fast blinkers.

I called the dealership. They also said I need the HD module and the Badlands load equalizer. Dealership said they'll order the Badlands equalizer for $119.95. I didn't tell them I was already on the website and can order it myself for $59.95. Nothing like a 100% markup.

Here's a question. They don't make a kit for the 09 SG. But they do for the other tourers. I think it is due to a dot law because the blinkers are too narrow or close to the brake light and therefore not road legal. However, I thought that the wiring harenes was still the same as the other tourers and therefore it would still work. Is that what you did?...I had the kit on my dyna, and want to do it on my SG.
