I don't know anything about trailers!
Help me out, I am going down to Texas to visit relatives and I want to take the bike.
I would ride it but my wife does not want to be on the back the whole time and I have no bags or anything for "luggage".
I probably would use a trailer a few times a year so I don't want to invest my life savings into one.
So like the title says I know Jack Sh* about trailers so I could use some help with:
What size is good for a single bike?
Is enclosed really worth it?
What brand and where to buy? (checked crags and ebay)
I am sure I will have more question but I really don't know where to start so I will start here
Thanks!

In my opinion the only thing enclosed trailer is good for 1. a garage anywhere you go and 2. to feed the pockets of the gas companies. I have a 5' x 10' landscaping trailer, its more then enough room for a bike it could even fit 2 bikes if one is faced forwards and one backwards. Plus it can be used for many other purposes. One year I used a buddies enclosed trailer to go to Daytona from Maryland The gas bill was $780 round trip. The next year I pulled my open trailer and the bill was just shy of $400 and gas prices were about the same and both years I drove my 2005 Expedition.

That's what I would look for. They have sides and a fold down ramp.
Lots of brands out there.A new one is probly around $1200

Larger wheels tow/roll easier than small ones and the bearings last longer, don't heat up as bad because the wheels aren't turning as fast.
Used flat trailers are cheap.
I picked up a used snowmobile trailer for $150. All steel deck 8X10'. Plenty of room for 2 bikes. When looking at used trailers check for rust on the frame and rotted wood.
Wood deck can be replaced but might be expensive, wiring/lighting is cheap and easy to replace also springs and tires aren't too costly.

I made wooden ramps (2x12s) they fit into stake pockets to make the sides of the trailer, my trailer also tilts but usually I just back up against a hill or into a ditch.

I bought a 6x12 enclosed trailer from Home Depot a few years ago for just under $3000. I had to install a chock and some eye bolts to tie down the bike. This has been a good investment for me, since I have used it to move a couple of years ago and it is now a temporary storage shed.

Look at Northern Tool and Lowes....small trailers are priced okay....used is cheaper....I would add bigger tires and better bearings...and get a SPARE....tire and bearing change is easy..Northern sells all sorts of trailer parts...
