HOG stock is up this morning due to rumors and chatter regarding a leveraged buyout attempt by an international equities firm...

Ah here we go again....

although it does give me the idea maybe we should create a few more rumors, like that my shares will be worth more

When the company came back from the brink in the 80's it was run by people who loved the company and the bike! Now it is run by a bunch of bean counters just looking at making a buck. This LBO may well be the end of Harley!

I gotta agree with you Mr Bill! It could go any which way if it happens. Including building them in a third world country! It would be totally up to marketing, and acceptance of that move, as to weather or not Harley survives then. Just one scenario!

It's just speculators trying to make money on the stock. If Harley was bought by a foreign firm, the company would be dead. But it would raise the value of any used American-made Harley.

No matter who makes harleys or who owns harley, there will always be buyers for harleys...
