My bikes are 36 and 18 years old. I carry TOOLS, fastners, hose, parts and use more than 1 bag for em. Over the 40 years I have been riding tools has been a good thing to have on many an occasion. Maybe I will get one of them new fangled machines some day and not have to worry about tools. Nah, ain't gonna happen.

Not always!!. I was up in Laconia 2005, My sidemount license plate bracket swung down and broke the wiring. I figured I would just crimp on a few butt connectors and repair the wiring the right way with solder and heat shrink when I got home.

My buddy hands me his Taiwan imitation Leatherman tool to crimp down on the wires. Using the pliers portion of the tool I start squeezing them together to crimp the wire, next thing you know "SNAP"!!!!, The the handles pinch together. I thought the butt connector broke but looking at it, The plastic hadn't even started to squeeze. Then I felt this extreme pain in my hand. and was looking at a palm full of blood.

As it turned out the piece of crap tool was made out of very porous cheap metal, it was just polished to a high lustre to look like a quality tool. Half of the jaw broke right off and when the handles slammed against each other my palm was unfortunately in the way. It "bit" a nice chunk of skin out of my palm.

You get what you pay for.
