RE: exhaust with no baffles
I've been tempted to check the sound of my V & H with the baffles removed but I don't know if it would hurt the bike sice its tuned with the baffles in.

RE: exhaust with no baffles
i got the v & h big shot tru duals
they came with a "barely baffle" andit was too loud, i bought the "ahemm, quiet baffles", but, while i had them out
i had to run it, it was just ignorant loud. just stoopit.
i run with the quiet baffles and its just fine. its loud when i want/need it to be, but purrs while cruising

RE: exhaust with no baffles
My friend just removed the baffles from his '06 street bob an placed straight black powder coated pipes w/ 45 degree bent, chromed end nostalgic tips. The thing sounds like heaven and accelerates like and elastic band. Just Awesome.
Regards.

Now you have to retune the thing.

RE: exhaust with no baffles
HUH?? I SAID HUH?
Many years ago my Suzuki TS 125 blew the baffle out the tail pipe while going down the road (yea I know, needed mor maintenace )
My head hurt by the time I got home from the noise.

RE: exhaust with no baffles
I'm running with the 16 ga SE exhaust which was a little too quiet stock. Removed the stock baffles and installed Thundermonsters. Sound is deep and awesome, and no discernable power loss, although I've been thinking of putting on a DFO or getting it re-tuned as I feel it is running a bit lean (not much though). Going out to Sturgis, so with so many bikes, nobody will hear mine no matter how loud. Safe riding.

RE: exhaust with no baffles
Heh my '74 came to me with no baffles and drag pipes. I'm thinkin' bout dropping in some half baffles just to tone her down a hair. My neighbors get a bit pissy when I rap the pipes on the way down the block (warming the bike up) and the noise echos off thier houses.
