Thanks for your post. I think we all learned something today. Take it easy Sunday and Monday that is when you will be really sore. Get back on soon and take care. Talking from my own experience you will be a btter rider going forward.

Accident
So Glad you are Ok- the bike can be replaced fairly easily- . Glad you wrote about your wreck and that you took responsibility. I did a CHP study for one year on all SanDiego MC wrecks and was surprised to find it about balanced out between crotch rockets with younger riders and cruisers with older riders. In 99.9% of all the reports first thing cited is "speed too fast for the conditions", second is "loss of control" . We all need to remember that although our bikes allow us a lot of play in swerving around objects we really can not stop as fast as a car or truck can and that we need to allow more than enough room to stop ourselves.

glad to hear you're okay, been there done that, so I know where you are coming from, I had the missus with me when I went down, just recooperating from the injuries from 6 mos ago. unless you have had that happen to you it's hard to say how you or anyone would have reacted differently..ride safe.

Glad your OK, Almost the same thing happened to my Dad this winter except he went to the right and ended up in a ditch. doesn't remember anything. He was bruised up, 10 stitches to the forehead, (his glass lense popped out and went into his forehead above his eye), ground his hands up pretty bad. Worse road rash that I've seen.

the great news is that you are ok.
i don't know how old you are, but day 3-4 after physical abuse are usually when i feel the "beat up" kick in. hope you feel ok, and get back on soon.

Good to hear you walked away as that's the main thing. Look as the bike fix as an excuse to make any changes you were mulling over.
And I hear ya on the part of it being your responsibility. I'm sure we are all guilty of letting our mind wander sometimes, I know I have. And the only time I have dumped my bike on the street (knock on wood) was when I was being an idiot.
Sometimes we are lucky and get "cheap" reminders...
Hope to hear your back up in the saddle again soon.

Hate to think what would have happened had you not had the presence of mind to go around the line of stopped vehicles!
Glad the bike took the brunt of the punishment also...
Kinda sounds like the bike high-ended when the *** end grabbed, then tossed you in the air as it started doing cart wheels!
