I have been hearing of tickets in many locations, Missouri has still got a helmet law but had not been enforcing, I am wearing a Skid Lid and yes it is also mushroom effect on my bucket head. Quite a few I ride with still insist on the novelty helmets, one even got a fake DOT sticker but got caught. Not worth the effort, I will live with the Lid as he is still playing games with a lawyer trying to beat the system and spending mucho denero!! just to prove a point he can get away with it.

Many shops that sold the novelty units here are getting away from them as they can be held liable here.

I found that you can make very nice perfectly professional DOT stickers right on your home computer and printer using adhesive labels. After placing on helmet, put a couple coats of clear fingernail polish on to keep it nice and new looking.

I have absolutlely no problem comitting a completely victimless crime that in no way shape or form infringes on anyone elses rights.

I don't have a pic, but the HCI helmet is almost as small (padding within 1/4") as the Head Trip job at 1/3 of the price.

Yep, this is the same helmet I wear. A matte black HCI German style helmet. Not too mushroomy.

This is what I started using the last couple months. +1 on the polo style

I wear a Fulmer shorty, light, feels good, and not too expensive. I have their 3/4 and they are a good buy too.
