Hmmmmmm!!!! wonder why they call them cowboy boots and motorcycle boots..?????

Had a pair of CB boots with Ostrich skin, I will say its some of the toughest scratch resistant leather there is.

The sole on most CB boots that I've owned were not very thick, not good for long wear, but makes them really comfortable.
Also don't think leather would be very good for foot traction. IE, sand, oil, ETC.
Nor would they support the ankle like a lace up boot..

Bottom line is.... Wear what U Want to......

They gotta be as good as my Flip Flops.....

I wear cowboy boots almost every day. I'm most comfortable riding with my Tony Lama ostrich boots. They came with a rubber sole and when it wore out, I replaced it with a vibram sole that has even better traction.

The ostrich leather will not be a problem. It's the most comfortable leather out there and super durable. The calfskin boots I wear some days get scuffed really easy, but not the ostrich.

I started wearing cowboy boots in 1962 and now can't stand to wear any other kind of shoe/boot except running shoes. Ostrich skin boots hold up real well to abuse. Better than cow hide, IMO. Rubber (vibrim) soles will serve you better than leather on a motorcycle boot.

if those boots are 10 1/2 ... I'll give ya $150.00 for them. I wear cowboy boots every day even when I ride. My wife gave me the Harley Davidson Bandera boot for Christmas. Best boots I have ever put on. Check them out.

Because unless you can balance your bike without putting your feet down at a stop, you will need a foot firmly planted, especially on wet surfaces or when there's sand or gravel on the road.

Also, when loading a passenger, you might want to make sure your foot doesn't slip.
