Default HD's air horn

I've been thinking about a louder...much louder horn for my ride. Is HD's air horn considerably louder than the stock horn? You don't see a lot of them, makes me wonder if it's worth the money.

It's a piece of junk. I've had two of them, both failed after a few months. Go with one of the other aftermarket brands out there. Plenty of threads here to research. I can't recommend the HD brand at all.

If you want a loud, good quality horn, that looks great on the bike look at the MiniBeast. Check out Eastern Performance for a great price on it.

It's easy to hook up too.

Pick any brand and you'll read negatives about them. My buddy has had the hd premium for 2 years with no problems.

I looked at them (the Howard's) but I'm looking for loud, not the air horn look...I don't even really care if its an air horn or not as long as its loud. It is much easier from a physics stand point to make a loud horn with compressed air and a trumpet shaped object. I've never seen a bike with them on it.

All the air horns are quite louder than the stock horn. But, there are problems with the horns that place the compressor in the place of the stock horn, Howards horn and the Harley horn are two that do. If you have a rubber mount engine which vibrates alot at idle you will destroy the impellor in the compressor. A Rivco horn locates the compressor under the seat, is plenty loud, and will last.

It's not the fastest, but at least it sounds like a Harley should and it runs very well.

Don't waste your money. Fails when it gets wet, fails when you are using it for too long an interval. Had one for two years and replaced it with the stock take-off.

The H-D air horn on my '09 Ultra CLassic crapped out at 6500 miles. I'll not mount another HD air horn. I normally don't like after-market accessories but in this case, I'll be mounting a RIVCO air horn.
