Default Changing out wheels - 3 hours labor?

I have a v-rod muscle and would like to trade the wheels out for a set that has been chromed. The dealership says that if they do it, it will take about three hours per wheel.

I found a place that does a direct exchange. Buy the chrome set from them, have them replaced and then return the unchromed wheels to them.

Does three hours labor per wheel make sense? I may have described it wrong to them over the phone, but it seems like a lot of labor.

Thanks

Lisa

Do it yourself. It ain't rocket science. 3 hours per wheel doesn't seem right but I've never worked on a V-rod.

thats why there called stealers!what criminals, easy to do it yourself, you can take wheels off, take em to tyre shop, change tyres onto new rims, bring home and put back on in under 3 hours, for a girl back wheel may be to heavy for you to do on your own!if you get new tyres, take bike to tyre shop and they will do it for free! new tyres arent cheap though, might be same as stealer charging 6 hours

That's way to much time. It should be 1 hour per wheel tops, and that includes changing tires and balance.

Thanks a lot guys. I found a non-dealer shop that agrees, says about 2, maybe 2 1/2 hours. If you were here I'd buy you a drink...

They saw you as a female who probably does not know how long it would take to do that task and could charge extra labor. Agree with others = 1 hour/wheel or 2 hours total.

You could have a your husband/male friend call and ask about the same situation at the same place and see what answers you get...if different, go and talk to the owner.
