It'd prolly take me 3 days, but I'd be cleaning/painting/lubricating parts as I go through them...

3 hours... For a front wheel? Take it off: 1 nut (axle) and 5 screws (brake rotor). Pull the tire and mount it on the new wheel. Put rotor back on and put the wheel back into the fork. 3 hours? Are you shitting me?

no kidding,
man i pulled my rear wheel replace the bearings, greased, checked over the drum brake, reinstalled, adjusted the chain and the brake rod, polished the swing arm in 1hour and 15 minutes
3 hours for a simple rubber swap per axle is RETARDED, fidn a differnt dealer/shop to do it. hell if you where close enough i would say brign it and a case of beer to me with it and i'll do it for you.

should be about a 3 hour total job. Gotta change and lube bearings, mount, balance, maybe have to remove saddle bags. Did my 05 Deluxe in about 2.5 hours using a pitbull lift and no air tools. Check you local indies.

Sounds a little high especially since it only took our indy to install and balance a tire for me in less than an half hour.Wheel was off the bike

Does three hours labor per wheel make sense? I may have described it wrong to them over the phone, but it seems like a lot of labor.

Thanks

Yep that sounds about right...Installing new bearings is required plus installing valve stems and brake rotors...Plus removing the tires from your old wheels and installing them on the new rims...3 hours is a fair labor rate in my opinion.

at my stealer ship we would get 1 1/2 per wheel they are going to have to take the brake rotors off. and mount and ballance the new tires.
