Although my bike is important to me, it isn't the most important thing I own. My house is without a doubt, the most important thing I own. Several have listed their family, but I don't think anyone "owns" their family. BTW, my dog is ahead of the bike as far as importance.

Most important possession
Well, I took the question as meaning "possessions". Since I don't "own" my wife, my dog died and I sold my house just before the market crashed, it would have to be my bike. My truck is a conveyance, getting me from here to there, but it's not like I look forward to firing it up and getting behind the wheel.
My favorite possession IS my bike. It's been that way for over 30 years. Not the same bike, but the bike I had at the time. Back when I was broke, young and had nothing else. Although I'm no longer young or broke (not quite, anyway), my bike has always been one of the most important things in my life. Not something that insurance would replace, and certianly not a "toy". In fact, I was suprised by the number of people who referred to their Harleys as toys.
My bike is not a toy, status symbol or ornament. It also doesn't define who I am, but comes damn close.

The really important things in life...
...can never be owned.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't anything important. I am truly grateful to have an amazing family, and some incredible friends. If everything material disappeared and I retained my family and friends, I wouldn't feel as if I had lost a thing.
Stuff is replaceable. People are not.
