Default HD doesn't always mean HUNDRED DOLLARS!

One of the passing lamps on my '02 Heritage went out so I get the part number and, thinking I might be able to find one to fit at AutoZone, I go up there. No luck, they can't cross reference it.

I check prices at HD.com and find it sells for about $22. I check Chicago HD and can get it for 20% cheaper.

Thinking I can do better I do more checking on the net and find a Wagner 4449 will cross reference the HD light.

I find them at amazon.com for 9 dollars and decide to get two. When I figured the shipping it came to $31. A litte steep so I decide to try another auto parts store close to home, O'Reilys.

Today I go to O'Reilys, they don't have it but can get it tomorrow ...... for $31.00!!!!!

I end up ordering two of them from amazon .....

Moral of the story .... HD is not always more expensive! ....

I bought several on ebay for prices ranging from a couple of bucks up to probably fifteen or so. I keep em in a box in the garage so I'll have one if I need it. Not sure why as I think I've only turned them on a couple of times since I installed them 3 years ago.

I also had about a dozen stock TC air filters that I bought on ebay for couple bucks a piece but have since gone to a SE AC so I gave them away (I think Harley sells them for $22.00). I have a case of H-D spark plugs in the garage, twelve dollars for the case also on ebay.

In my opinion Ebay is great place to get **** for the Scooter.

Yeah, ebay works out much of the time, but Paypal can be a real pain in the butt. Paypal is always pushing to get the Paypal credit card for verification, or your bank account, I'm not comfortable with that and I've heard more than a few horror stories regarding unauthorized transactions. JMHO. Sorry for the hi-jack.

One of mine went out about six months ago so I went to the local Checker Auto Parts. He couldn't cross reference it but he gave me a screwdriver so I took the burnt one out and he got me a new one for less than $8. It was burnt out from the package. Took it back in and he got another that worked. Don't know how ebay would have handled that one.

But you have to understand that you don't have genuine Harley bulbs.
