What Motor?
I am thinking about buying an old motor to tinker with. I would like to find something that I can rebuild and possibly use in a home made chopper or bobber down the road. Which motor should I go with? there are alot of options out there but I could use some direction. I was thinking about checking out the swapmeet in daytona next week but I dont know what to look for. If any one has a motor available let me know.

Evo...?
Hey Mudbeast
When you say "old", I don't think Evo, so I'm not sure if you do or not. You can rebuild an old Pan with all kinds of updated oiling and top end components for next to nothing, but if you want something that you can really work on I'd go with an old Shovel. Parts are cheap and the tolerances are not as tight as the new stuff, which makes them both good motors for the "garage" mechanic.
Nothing looks as good as a Pan, but nothing sounds as good as a Shovel.

My choice would be a cone shovel. What ever you buy make sure there is a paper trail to follow, you don't want to get burned on hot motor.

The important thing to consider is the parts issue. While we can still get parts for all of them, right now if I was going to look for a engine to O'Haul I would personally go with the EVO.There are lots of used parts - new aftermarket around. Also when you start looking for a trans consider the 5 speed. They are much easier to rebuild than the old 4-speeds. No matter what you buy be sure to get the right paperwork with it or you will have problems when it comes time to get a title for your project.
