Default Harley Evo in an SPS

Pipe dreaming of trading the Fat Bob in on a Sucker Punch Bobber. Local dealer only has the HD Evo engine in stock on that model.

I seem to recall hearing mostly bad things about the Evo motor. Anyone ever run one? Feedback?

Anyone ever run a Sucker Punch for that matter?

Evo is the most durable motor Harley ever built. 100,000 miles on them is a common thing and 200,000 is not at all unheard of. This is without a rebulid.

Yeh, there were a few small things similar to the twin cam woes, but everything I've heard of the EVO was pretty remarkable speaking of it's durability...

Bad things about the Evo....sir, you are WAY misinformed. The best motor the moco has ever made as far as durability, ease of maintenence and longevity.

I have a stock EVO on a 98 wideglide. I like it better then my twin cam on my 03 Heritage. Simpler engine.

Whoever told you bad things about the evo deserves to be ignored forevermore.

Maybe he was talking about Toyota & you misunderstood.

Copy that. Glad to hear that as naturally it is more convenient to get HD parts than S&S at the local shops. Stay tuned...
