To be honest,
I think you are all "Talkin' ****", and "Shootin' Your Mouths Off",
Real Men,
Wear sleeveless t-shirts and ride with one leg up in the air,

The only guys I know who care who made their leather are the same ones who buy bikes and never lift a finger even to check air in the tires. To them it's a status symbol, "look I have a Harley, look I have this *&@^%$ leather and it's the best, look I have this... yada yada yada."
What differance does it make who made or what brand leather you have? You like one jacket great, does everyone have to agree no. I don't care what you paid or how much you saved. I wear what I want and can afford, does it mean I compromise? No i buy what I feel is the best for me.
Do I always wear leather, no. Am I going to crash, who knows. But when I ride, I don't throw on a leather and think I have protection either. Yes a leather will protect from road rash, but it ain't going to protect you any better if you get T-boned or have a Semi climb your a$$.
People wear different products for different reasons. Let it be, wear what you want and what you can afford. Is my $105 dollar leather any worse than a leather costing $400 or more? I'll put it up against anything sold by HD or others as far as leather quality and protection. But I don't rant and rave about it.

We have a member here that has stated that he survived a 70 MPH crash, with no injuries other than a scuffed, (not gouged or ripped even), leather jacket,
So obviously we have two different opinions here,
Who should I believe???
PS, My wreck,

How does that saying go: "the best quality lingers long after the sale price has been forgotten". If you can afford to get the best without breaking the bank or missing mortgage payments, then I say "GO FOR IT"! You're only going to live once so do it with gusto.

BTW, the current pricing as of 3/2010 is:
Columbia jacket: $950
Pocket Columbia jacket: $1,155
Cascade jacket: $850
Of course, this is before any options such as fringe, gun pocket, goatskin, etc.
Pricey? You betcha! But damn, I bet it fits like a glove (except more like a jacket).
