Default Helmet color

Got a new helmet in mind. Shoei X11 on sale, can't decide between metalic black( bikes black pearl the helmet is darker) or silver. It gets 104 here in the summer wife says silver for that reason, any input? Never had a silver lid before

A silver helmet would make you more visible to other traffic.

I'd go with black.

I would decide for myself since I would be wearing it. Black hot but so is silver when it is 104 degrees outside. To me hot is hot.

An Australian study that found white helmets to be involved in 25% less accidents than black helmets. It also found light colored helmets to be involved in 19% less accidents than black.

Black is beautiful in my opinion. Has any body done any stats on accidents happening with loud exhaust versus silent exhaust. Thats one that I'd like to see.

Maybe Australians can't see and loud noises make them think it needs to be ran over. What I really would like to see is a statictioner wearing a black helmet standing next to something that sounds like loud pipes on the side of a busy road collecting data on near misses and hit
