Default Looking for advice on brand of battery to get

I have an 03 heritage, last year I could tell the battery was starting to die and then couple weeks ago melted the posts off it by accident trying something so now I have to get one.

I figured its almost march and another month or two gonna be able to get out riding and need to start getting ready for it so need to find a battery

Any advice on what to get?
I have been told interstate and odyssey are good, I cant seem to find the harley oem battery on any of the part sites I use, and I REFUSE to give my local HD shop my money. Not sure what prices are across the brands, but rather spend little more on a reliable battery than be stranded in middle of nowhere with dead bike.

So what do you guys use?

I have been told that Deka makes the Harley brand batteries. I have had the Harley brand them last from 5 to 7 years, with regular battery tender use. I will try a Deka next to see how it works and possibly save a few dollars at the same time.

I have a good local dealer and just buy stock for around a hundred dollars. I get four to five years out of the battery and that is good enough for me.

Batteries are pretty much the same. I just make sure to buy sealed one's. No lead acid.

Whatever you buy, buy it from a place that moves a lot of stock.
It may have been sitting on the shelf for some time and that's what winds up in your bike.

I think KC International sells HD batteries for a discount. I don't know though if the shipping will eat up the savings

odyssey batteries makes a great battery. I use them in all of my off road vehicles and have learned not to waste money on anything else.

Look here

Deka makes all the batteries for Harley. If you call your local distributor it will usually be $20-30 cheaper than a dealer. Same battery just a white case versus black and no HD logo.
