Thirsty, and I want a cupholder.

Thirsty, and I want a cupholder.
I know I'll get grief for this but I ride far and I don't like to stop much. I've had heat stroke a few times and would hate to have it happen while on my bike. Let the razzing begin, but I'd appreciate some ideas too. Thanks.

JC Whitney used to sell cup holders that just bolted to the handlebars. I had one but it just looked too tacky. For long trips in this NM heat, I have a Joe Rocket tank bag and a camel back. I freeze the camel back and then put it in the tank bag. I then sip on the camel back tube as it melts and then stuff the tube back into the tank bag. You drink as you go and it works great. But, if you are hell bent on a cup holder and JC Whitney doesn't sell them anymore...IM me. I'll send you my old one. I still have it in the "dead after market stuff that I did not like" box.

Outdoorgirl, thanks for the kick in the head. I used to mountainbike and still have the bladder from the camel pack rolled up in the back of the garage fridge. Don't care to wear the camelback but I'm thinking the hose might reach from my bags. Thanks again.

I have seen belts that hold water bottles on the side, kind of like a fanny pack idea. It might not be so great while your riding to try to get it out, but at a stop light it would work well.

Have you seen the leather bag/water bottle holder that snaps on the saddle bag bar?
there is a left and right side version

I have a cup holder on the handlebars. It is a chrome clamp that has a stainless steel holder that just slips on when needed. When not needed, there is only the chrome clamp on the bars.
Might not look real cool to some, but I'm more into riding than looking cool.
Regards,
Bill
