Gator Tale

Do whatever floats your boat regarding what to do with a gator in the road. Just one thing to keep in mind tho, They can move pretty fast, especially the ones about 6' long and they're built like a friggin tank so if you do accidently hit one while cruizin on the road it'll be like hitting a log and then that gator won't have to work very hard for his dinner.

It's a pretty simple solution really: It's common knowledge that gators AND crocs can't stand the music of Clay Aiken. So if you have a sound system on your scoot then just keep a CD handy (Yea, I know it's painful to spend your hard earned $ on him) to play if you encounter one. If you don't have a sound system then bring along an MP3 player with him loaded on it and walk up to the reptile and put some headphones on it and before you know it your problem will be high tailing it the other direction. You hear that they can sprint pretty fast but you just can't grasp how fast they can run until you try this.

We do not have that problem here in the North, well we do but on a lot smaller scale,Lizards, squirells, skunks, porcupines, raccoon, deer, moose, cattle, horses, wild turkeys, and other critters, but No Damn Alligators!

What JackAce said. Most 'gators are fairly shy & a loud bike passing in front of him will scare him back into the water. I had one come up right under my feet one time when I was riding on the front of an airboat. He wasn't after me, just tryin' to get away from the noise.

It aint no better to tell you to ride in the country. Because many years ago I was riding down this road did'nt know what I was seeing and road right up to two big black bulls standing in the road too. These things do'nt happen that often . But you always wished you had your camera or some toilet paper.

I ran over a Gator on the Turnpike in my Peterbilt and it was like hitting a log in the road. I couldnt believe how hard it felt. We ride out in the Everglades often and see gators all the time but never in the road. I think I would just go in front of it.
