Default Trick or Treat; Medical Insurance payment?

Crashed last August, had insurance through work, had surgery, paid all bills, all fixed up now. Finally filed a claim on the bike and now Insurance Co. (Farmers) has extended an invitation to claim my $1000 medical payments. Should I claim the $1500 I spent on medical?

Dont get me wrong, a 1000 bucks is a lot of gasoline, but I wonder, what is the downside (besides spending hour upon hour and phone call upon phone call and frustration and "coordination of Benefits, and affidavits and reciepts and did I say insurance BS)? Somehoe I think its a trick so if I ever get hurt again doing anything, ever, any insurance company can claim its pre existing- or cancel my coverage, or raise my rates or am I (too) paranoid? Should I claim the $ I spent on medical after a motorcycle crash? Anyone have experence with this monkey business? BTW, bike just got in the shop and I dont know the verdict yet.

Depends on whether the wreck was your fault or someone elses. If it was someones fault they'll be no harm. BUT if it was your fault then an at fault wreck WITH injury they paid for will increase your rates much higher than just a normal at fault wreck AND may also cause them to cancel.

Thats the kind of chit I'm worried about. It was single vehicle (mine), no damage to property and no citations. I could end up paying back the benefit in premiums.

NO WAY, I'd take it then, esp since your bills have already been paid by other health insurance.

If it is meant to pay medical bills, and they were already paid,..... The work insurance company might want to recover that $1000, if you receive it

What a GRAND Prize we have won with the Nat'l Insurance Institute, AY ?????

Unfortunately they are NOT the BIGGEST lobby in Wash.
That prize goes to the Bankers/Financial lobby.

READY ????? 5 Lobbyists for EVERY Representative and Senator.
NOW do you know how come THEY can charge 29%+ interest, and it's LEGAL !!!!
Or why he's worried as H*LL they will be able to, and might jus' cancel his policy ??? Or come after him for the $$$.

And JUSTIFIABLY so.

Starting to look an awful lot like a casino. It's one big azzt gamble, and the odds are definitely stacked AGAINST us.

Plus, a lot of people, are "insurance poor". IOW, they pay so dammd much for different insurances, THINK about ALL, YOU have ?????

Ahhh, Total Capitalism, GREAT thang. NOT Capitalism, TOTAL Capitalism.

Follow Capitalism to the end of the street. What do you see ???
Way back when, it was referred to as a "Monopoly", and that is where the Anti-Trust Laws came from. You know, the ones that have been completely GUTTED since the 80's.

BUT DAMM IT, Gumby, that tv is cheaper than H*LL at Wal-Mart.
Sure is. BUT hows your health ins payment ??? Better hope your house doesn't burn down in Indiana.
WHAT Mora Police Dept. ???? CLOSED in Jan. !!!!!!!

THESE are the TRUE costs on 'monopolies', NOT just that cheap azzt tv.

Likewise when we have these huge mergers STILL going on. Sold as "It will make things cheaper"

Sure will, when

SORRY -

Again, SRRY, I'll STFU now, and go back to drinkin' coffee.

If your gunna make a claim on getting your bike fixed, might as well take the medical.Either way, they can increase the premium which Farmers will probly do.
Dont know about pre-existing condition. It would be in your medical files anyway.

You can't be insured by two companies at once (they won't cooperate) so that $1000 will go to reimburse the company that paid out your medical expenses. You might get away with keeping the $1000, but expect a letter demanding payment from your primary insurance company.

After its all said and done, I'm out of pocket about $1500 after co-pays and deductable. It was a $30,000 bill so I feel fortunate, and grateful albeit a little paranoid....
