I've found the best thing for long distance is a sheepskin fleece. Just toss it over your regular saddle ...soft and wicks off sweat, you can ride all day...30 bucks at IKEA.

Can I ask you guys a question, how do you tell if your seat has gel in it? I bought a Danny Gray seat off Hybrid Hapa off ebay, but just bought it outside of Ebay. It showed up, beautiful seat, but didn't come with any paperwork stating that it had the gel insert as promised and wasn't just the regular seat that sells for $100 less approx. on the Danny Gray website. Sorry, not attempting to jack your thread, but figured you guys seemed to have some knowledge about gel. Thanks...

The only thing I know about the inserts is that at Daytona, if memory serves - the vendor who was doing them wouldn't put one in my Mustang seat. He was doing stock Harley seats all day long but would not do aftermarket seats, I either don't remember why or he didn't say, I forget.... maybe because the stock seat covers were stapled but the aftermarket were not...

I bought the gel pad that sits on top of the seat and it works great - when I can remember to bring it with me wherever I'm going!

I have heard this a few times now that it doesn't make much of a difference...wonder if its worth the effort and expense and the possibility of fokking up your seat
