If you're going to be there around lunch time, you might want to checkout Solomon's Castle.
Also, you might want to checkout the FL Crew section here on the forum.

How about Solomon's Castle? Boat in the Moat restaurant is worth the trip. The guy that owns the place is...Unique

I 3rd the Boat in the Moat at Solomon's Castle, and be sure to take the tour.
I've only been to Arcadia once or twice - wife like the antiques, but they leave me cold. We found a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant on a cross street, with surprising good food at very reasonable prices. Don't recall the name, but it was just off the main drag in an antique-heavy area. Might have been Wheeler's Cafe on S. Monroe.
If Solomon's doesn't appeal, you might stop in Myakka City to see the Lippizan Stallions training http://hlipizzans.com/welcome.htm when they are open.
