Craftsman Pro Jack......Damn Uncomfortable Feeling...
#102
He is a quick story about a Craftsman jack. I needed a floor jack to get the from end of my daughters old Honda accord off the ground so I could change a leaking oil pan gasket. I borrow my neighbors brand new Aluminum Nascar series Craftsman jack. Thing was rated over 4000 pounds. I lift the front end up, put jack stands under it and remove the jack. I pull the jack accross the street, and while Im talking to my neighbor the jack pisses every ounce of hydraulic fluid all over his driveway. Sears will not repair the jack, and I end up buying him a new one for $300. I also notice that the Craftsman jack was made in China. In the meantime I go buy myself a floor jack from Harbor Freight for $60. Was able to take the car off the stands with no problem. I know HF tools are for the most part crap. My expectation when buying a tool there is as follows. If I get more than 3-5 uses out of the tool it was money well spent, and if it lasts longer than that bonus for me. Lesson learned, no more borrowing tools, and I don't think I will be buying anything Craftsman anytime soon.
