Lane Splitting in SoCal
#22
The license plate on the vehicles driven by LEOs in California say CA EXEMPT and I think that it means that they are exempt from the standard laws as this would allow them to cross over double yellow lines without any legal issues or concerns. There are things that they are required to do to be able to carry out their duties and I am all for that. It is a hard enough job to do as it is and I am very glad that they are there.

All CA state vehicles say exempt. It means they are exempt from license requirements, (smog, tabs...etc). My mother is a CA state employee and she drives an exempt vehicle for work, and she does not get to cross over double yellow lines...lol

I'd rather split lanes then sit in stop and go traffic. I've been rear ended on the bike before and its defenatley no fun. I'll take my chances with the stuff in front of me that I have more of a control over.
