My 2009 Ultra Classic was originally on ebay. I waited until the auction had expired for the 3rd time, then negotiated a deal. Fortunately, the bike and owner were only 3 hours from me.

Ok ...from this point on

I no longer totaly think the seller was selling me a bike he knew was in poor condition.

I sincerly believe he was just stupid, and it was costing him a lot to get it fixed

he had the spring on the wrong side of the starter drive linkage, so it was not working(one of the few things he did tell me were not working)

I feel much better now lol

Hope you find a bike you like for a great price

Now that a good idea...I'm sure there would be a lot of members ready to offer,

I bought 2 bikes off ebay. Both experiences were positive.

Most sellers on ebay will set their reserve too high. Just keep looking and eventually one will come along that is a really good deal.

I've bought a lot of stuff off ebay, but the only way I'd buy a bike off of it is if I could see it in person, or have someone I trust see it in person. Like one of my sons, or a friend that I trust that lives in the geographic area where the bike is being sold. LIke said many times, pictures can hide a multitude of sins.

I bought 2 off eBay and sold 2 off eBay. All 4 were great experiences. I am in Alabama and bought a 2001 FXDXT sight unseen from a guy in NY. My gut told me everything was cool and I actually paid for it in full before flying up there. He met me at the airport on a Friday around noon, and I had a great ride all the way back to Bama. I set a personal best 785 miles that Saturday, all the way from Pennsylvania to Chattanooga.

Default Yeah.

I did and I would. Make sure it is near enough to go check out yourself. That is the main thing. Really check out the ebay listing. Call the seller. If you are truley interested. If it sounds any bit fishy, back off. I bought my 2007 Ultra off ebay. The best deal I ever got.

Add me to the many happy/satisfied (lucky?) ebay buyers. I had a PPI done before finalizing the auction. Mailed the check, seller waited for it to clear then he helped arrange shipping from PA to CA (which I paid for)
