After 30 years of riding HD's, owning new, used, built, wrecked...etc....my suggestion is sell yours on the used market and buy a 2 to 3 year old machine. You'll save probably 10k, have a machine with loads of custom upgrades, saving you probably another 5k, and will have a trouble free machine for a long, long, time. With that extra 15k, you can take a nice vacation..Why not come over here to Sweden and take a ride over to the north coast of Norway with me??

Give Central H-D in K.C. (Olathe) a call. Paid 16,125. OTD for a 2010 FXDWG. No add on fees. No nothin. Just the cost + taxes. And they do throw in a few freebies.

Unless the local guy calls me back with a better deal.

Bartlesville Cycle Sports must have really changed over the years. Back when Tuck Archer owned it, you could wheel and deal a little if you dealt with him. The kid he had working for him, who is now the owner, wouldn't deal for nothing and my dad and I have walked out of there so many times it wasn't funny. Maybe he pulled his head out as he got older. I ran into him a few years ago at a 3-D archery tournament and he still acted like the stuck up butthead he always was.

I'd try Myers-Duren or Route 66 in Tulsa first.

You're approaching the busy part of the season, but that can be good news. Keep shopping around and wait for incentives. Let them know that your serious and that you are looking around for the best deal.

Default Never, ever... settle.

Get what you want or you will always regret it. I shopped around an area of 200 miles to buy my bike. In a short 5 1/2 months the 2011 models will be released and the 09 will be a 2 year old bike. There are deals out there... and whip me beat me let me buy a one way ticket to West Palm Beach, FL or some other destination, and ride a new bike home. Sell your Bike Outright and go for the deals. If you want to work with the local dealer find your best deal then offer to pay a little more to stay local and inform them you are buying... from them or notl. If they hesitate walk. I did this with one dealership on my EGC and the dealer refused to budge, I bought... but not from them. They still have the same bike over 4 months later and now they want to deal. Too late.

I would search the HD site for the model you want. There are LOTS of bikes out there, and dealers willing to deal. Are you comfortable making a long distance deal? There might be the "perfect" bike out there but in a faraway state. (That's how I found my 07 Wide Glide...but it was right here in WI and man, was that dealer (Kutter Harley) willing to deal! They can't be the only ones.) Have fun shopping around!

I bought a black 2010 WG last month and my two cents is shop around and you will be able to find a better deal. Went to the dealer here in jersey and asked how much out the door, they said $16.5k, I said "thats the best you can do? A guy on hdforums.com was just quoted $15,300 out the door (which was true).. what's the BEST you can do b/c im serious?" They gave me the bike for $15,600 otd so needless to say there are guys out there willing to deal.. just gotta keep lookin. good luck man.
