Dealership wont budge a dime on nothing
#21
I shopped around on the Internet before I went in. I am will to travel to make a deal. However when I bought my Street Glide in August I was hard pressed to find a bike in stock let alone a screaming deal. But through the Internet I found a dealer 2 states over and 300 miles away who gave me $700 below MSRP and no prep or setup or anything. Also offered 20% off anything in the store. Needless to say I bought a 18k t shirt and they threw in a bike for free. Plus I got to ride the 300 mile trip through Montana to get it home

Thanks for the advice guys. I am going to look around as much as possible. There are plenty of dealers around. The deal in Bartlesville OK sounds the best so far. I think the lady told me they had a 2010 Wide in black for $14,299 with no freight/prep and a $12 doc fee. I will see if I can sell my metric myself.
Unless the local guy calls me back with a better deal.

Call Critter at Myers-Duren in Tulsa and tell him I sent you. I bought my RKC there and got good deal and I also referred another guy here on the forums who drove all the way from Dallas, TX after talking to Critter and after the drive drive from Dallas and back to Dallas he was still money ahead. At least give him a call. You have nothing to lose. The number is 918-743-4440. Just tell him James on the forums sent you.

Dynawide42, I am from Kansas too. I had a VERY specific 2008 Dyna Low anniversary bike I wanted. So I called and looked all around the country for several weeks. The best deal I got was at Topeka HD. They beat the price of a dealer in Texas and every dealer in Iowa, Kansas and Missouri with the bike I wanted (there weren’t many with it). Topeka HD was fair, honest and very nice to deal with. I did it all over the phone. I would call them and see what they can do. Better yet. Call several around the country. Haul your trade on a trailer to the best deal and save!
Good luck.

Keep looking around for dealers with 09's. I just got a new 2009 FXD for less than KBB retail for a used 2009.
Considering we're 1/2 through the 2010 model year, and any dealer that still has '09s in their inventory should be giving huge incentives to move those bikes.

the write ups i have read about the fat bob is it is a really nice bike to ride!! probably better lookin too!! but you should really get the bike you really want rather then settle for something else! otherwise you will end up with something like a metric
