Carolina 9" Logger steel toe boots. $166 at Shoebuy.com. Vibram sole. Made in USA. Every bit as nice as Redwings. Very comfortable, too.

My lower legs and ankles swell every once in a while and I've been wearing these lace up Corcoran boots with a zipper. They are easy to put on and take off without having to unlace. They can be worn as tightly as you want to.

I currently wear belleville hot weather combat boots. I tried using a pair of leather work boots for riding and they didnt hold up as well. Combat boots work great, most have the vibram soles and are just about always made in the US. The hot weathers arent water proof but dry out very quickly and your feet dont burn up.

A lot of brands and colors of combat boots out there. Many options and colors and usually hold up very well.
