Can you spy on the service bay at your favorite dealer?

Ours has one big glass garage door to get into the service desk. Clerk writes order up and than a second glass garage opens up to the work area. You can see 50% of the service area. As others have said, most insurance companies don't allow you to take customers into the service areas. Dealers will, but it would give insurance companies a way out if a customer got seriously hurt.

I have several dealers near me and only one has the whole front of the service department with glass windows. You could stand outside and watch most everything going on. One other dealer has some glass you can see thru and watch a little of the shop. I would think that most not all shops would not want you too see whats going on in the shop, so they can charge extra for simple repairs or if something embarassing happens no one will know.

The dealer near me used to let people walk right back there and actually talk to the techs. Now they built a wall and a door. You can't go back there anymore or see whats going on
