Default Clutchless shifting! Who doesn't and why not?

I'm looking for technical opinions. As this is my first thread I thought I'd bring out the best.
I have always shifted my metric junk up and down through the gears without the clutch.
I think I need to know what the downside is for doing this with my new to me Scoot. The only times I have done this so far is when the rpm's are really low coming back down. Up doesn't seem to be any problem as long as all the juices are warm.
Thanks! Bob

These aint dirt bikes were riding here and they weigh more than the metrics too. I have a clutch too and I use it.

I've done it by accident once or twice, but don't make a habit of it. that's why the clutch is there.

I used to do it all the time on my '04 Kawi Z1000, it didn't hurt anything...I don't do it on my Street Bob cuz I don't need to shift as fast.

Metric gears are made of rubber, Harley is made of real steel. figure out the diff???
