Their Two brakes!
I use them both as they are on the front. I have one in the rear too, but I have as of yet to figure out how to activate it!

I do use my clutch 99% of the time. I was just interested in knowing what the Crew do!
And no I wouldn't want to risk tearing anything in my new to me bike up!
Know wut I mean! I just happened to want to know, You know!
I may be an ole dog, but I could still learn a new trick or two. Many scoots in my past, this is my first Harley. I'd been wanting one for the last Forty-five years. It's about time eh! (-; And I got what I wanted the first time! And at the right price!

A guy at work, new guy did this with one of our box trucks, ruined a brand new truck transmission within 3 months. Mechanic went for a ride to see it pop out of 6th gear....he noticed dumb *** shifting without the clutch. Mechanic 1- Company 0.
Evidence of damage to the gears and synchros and witnessing the clutchless shifting cost us a few thousand dollars because they refused to warranty it.

Man, I remember WAAAYYYY back when I was in school, I coulda sworn our school bus driver shifted without a clutch...gggggrrrrriinnnnnddddd-crunch every freakin time! He was so old, we just figured nobody had ever told him about the clutch in those new horseless carriages.

 

The Clutch is designed to relieve engine load and stress on the transmission while shifting gears... SO IT DOESN'T GRENADE ON YOU!

I've seen many manual transmissions in my life time as I used to be an ASE Certified master Auto tech for 20 years. I could tell which people used the clutch.. and which dumbass' didn't. The difference:

Clutch users didn't have gear or syncro problems... just needed a new clutch average price $500.00

Gear Crammers needed a new tranny case, input/output shafts, syncros, gears, bearings... a new crate transmission or junkyard tranny to get the car back on the road.

You do the math...

 

Hmmmm that logic just doesn't work for me....175k Peterbuilt only gets the clutch when I stop and start.....Jes Sayin
