How do you find the Boy when cornering with the floor boards - I believe they "scrape" a lot?

My last bike was a Rice burner over 20 years ago and after that I rode motorcross for a season or so in Ireland - I recently had a "refresher" course on a Iron 883 with HD in Dublin and it onlt took me 1/2 hour to get back into the whole thing - I have no interst in blasting at high speeds and believe HD is my ideal bike to get - i "DO NOT" want to end up buying a Iron or simular and then changing again in 5 months - I am buying to keep for a while so therefpre want to pick a bike that I will love and adore ( and so will others I am sure)

If I had unlimited cash, I would own a Fatboy Lo in addition to my Ultra. Very cool bike, although there are things on it that I would change. Either make it a gloss black or a flat black, why mix and match?

For me I was looking at both. I'm not a big fan of the 50's look that the Fat Boy has and I'm not a fan of floor boards. I own the Fat Bob which I'm more of a fan of foward contorl pegs but not the stock black pegs. I have a 103 CI Stage 4 and It's a powerful beast that is easy to maneuver with the drag bars.

If I went for the Lo I would get the Chin / v+h big radius / and add some nice switch geat / throttle / levers / mirrors to start off with - Think I would add chrome as It I think contrast well against the "dark " black finish -would u agree

I have scrapped once in the 15 months since I've owned it. Its all in knowing the limitations of your ride.

I totally agree Maimas and without doubt will hit the road at some stage but not doing 180 mph on a suicide racing machine -

It will all come back to me and without doubt experience of the past will help -

Are cross winds a big problem with the solid wheels?

I have the new fat boy lo, its perfect for me since I changed the stock bars to mini apes, but I'm only 5'1" tall too.

would love to see a pic of the mini apes on the bike - did you change anything else>? Were the standard cables ok with the new bars?
