Expecting a discount and being offered a discount are two different things.....Anybody that wants this kind of discount is free to fill out a job application or be a volunteer if your community has 'em.

That's cool. nothing against anyone on here, I've just dealt with people in the past (as a manager for a auto service center) that actually got pissed off at me for not giving them a discount on tires for being an LEO. I actually told one of them "look if you write me a ticket, do I get a discount because I sold you tires?" He got pissy and left. I'm so glad I'm not in customer service anymore.
Like rdam said it pays to shop around. I purchased a POSE Road King for 15,800.00 in 06. I was told the Moco eats the shipping and setup fees. Back then I was told that it did not count against their allotment of bikes. Sort of an extra sale for the dealer. There was a 1600.00 dollar difference from high to low at the three different dealerships in my area.
My dealer gave me 10% off and no set up fees. I got a Road King with every option for about the same price someone would pay for one with no options out the door.
I shopped at 4 different dealerships. 2 offered 1,000 off MSRP and 1 gave no discount. The 10% was by far the best deal. Only problem is I'm still waiting for delivery...
I'm prolly gonna get flamed for this. But doesn't it seem a tad bit silly to expect a discount just for going to work every day and doing your job? Hell I work too. Were's my discount? Now gimme a second yall. I gotta put on my fireproof under roos
2ND that, you chose the job. Same way i did, why no DISCOUNT for me!!! You guy's better than me? What am i ? A second class citizen!
My dealer gives me 10% on all purchases. Did not know about it till I bought there, did not expect it and do not feel one bit guilty for taking it. My job is just that, my job. Doesn't make me any better or any worse than the next guy.
