Lace up type boots
#41
I've got Carolina logger boots, 8 inch lace up. Lace up takes a bit loger, but good ankle support. Oil resistant vibram sole, made in the USA.

Great boot for well under the $200 mark.

I've got several pair of "lineman's" boots, some in the 16" black all leather version (can't wear with the new uniform). Used to wear them racing motocross back in my young (read: too poor to buy real MX boots) days.
Just got a pair of these (for work, I climb antennas for a living in the USAF):

Bought some Timberland boots just for the bike a few days ago:
I've never been a fan of boots with a zipper, even though most of them have laces to set the tightness.
I also have a pair of Sage Green, steel toe, Goretex lined, Bellvilles like the black ones earlier in this thread:
Model: 650ST (IIRC...) very comfortable.

Thanks for all the great advice. I think I have my work cut out. I'm going to try on as many of the suggested boots that are available in my area, and pick them that way. I appreciate all of the great advice.
