Anyone get a 'Smokin' deal on a leftover '09?

2009 Low Rider $2,000 off MSRP (with nothing added.)
Not my bike of choice but a beautiful bike and tempting. There are plenty of "deals" out there and the dealers that won't move should not get your business.

How the hell can he not know if it runs or not? either it does or doesent. Most likely it dont, and he dont want to spend any $$$ to find out what it would take to get it running.Just my Opinion.....

In October 09 I bought my two tone Ultra w/o abs, added rider backrest, tour pack premium rack and a second headset. I got $2k of the total of parts plus MSRP and when I traded in my 95 Ultra w/165k miles ( new paint, lots of chrome, many extras) other dealers had offered $6k as trade, they gave me $8k. So I feel like I got $4k off actually. Pretty good I'd say. And there was no haggling about it. Talked to salesman and he basically answered questions about the bike and wrote the order. Then I asked for the general manager and showed him a deal from another dealer and said "Can you beat it?' He looked at it and laughed and said Hell yes. Told me the price and we shook, signed the offer sheet. He said let's go to finance and I said nope, got my own. Got 3.45% from my credit union. Best he could do was 5.9%. He said he thought they would make up some by doing the financing but didn't whine very long when I told him no.
Dealer was Thunder Tower HD in Columbia SC. He's about $50 higher than a closer local ealer on service. Maybe he thinks they'll make money on me there. *** HD in Rock Hill Sc took care of my old bike and my new one is going to be serviced at *** also.
Pretty good deal though from Thunder tower

2010 Steetbob MSRP of $13,374. Offered $11,999 no freight and setup charges. Salesman said no-can-do. Wife standing right next to me makes same offer and salesman says sure why not.
So $1375.00 below MSRP
So $1375.00 below MSRP

Have not tested market yet but noticing the length of time many private sellers have their bike up for sale, the number of bikes on fleabay that never make reserve, etc. The real deals it would seem are the late model, low mileage used bikes selling for far less then I think they would have 18 months ago.

Always always always deal like you will be financing the bike thought the dealer. They will come down on price if they think the can make money on the back end of the loan. Dealers get points when they set you up with financing. When you agree on a price sign it and then give them cash or credit union finance check, or even let them try to beat the rate you got. They don't always have to go through Eagle mark. They can go through local banks as well and sometimes get a better rate than what you got from the same bank. As far as MSRP? 90% of people will pay msrp or within $500 on either side, and there will always be some who will say they got 5k off MSRP. Usually there are full of it
