If you really want the best, get a Vanson. Langlitz makes a good jacket as well, but they have fewer choices in styles.

If you don't want to spend quite that much $$$, Fox Creek makes a great product for substantially less than the Vanson. Not in the same league as Vanson, but you'd still be happy with it.

 

I want me a Vanson to keep for the rest of my life to wear and break in and wear out. I have heard they feel like a second skin once they are broken in to your body.

Okay and try NOT to take this as being critical but you live in Dubai so your pockets may be deep but your options few. I have a Bates (made in USA) for over 40 years and they are pricey but worth every penny. I have HD jackets that I would feel guilty selling to some sucker. Granted, they are not FXRG but costly nonetheless. I recently picked up a Fox Creek jacket and hard to imagine a better quality leather. The thing weighs darned near 11 pounds. Can't imagine wearing it unless cooler weather but ain't worried about that as my skin is like tree bark. :-)

I just got my 1st Harley, and I got a new Harley leather to go with it. I love it, fits great and is warm. I haven't seen anyone here mention Brooks. I have one, it's thick well built, and they have been around probably longer than most.

 

Took me a year to find a jacket that was the quality I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. Took a chance on leatherup.com and I have to say it is far and away the best riding jacket I've ever owned. Flat refuse to pay mega dollars for a jacket just because it says Harley-Davidson on it, and have yet to see a single one in person that is even remotely the weight and quality of the one I own. May have to break down and order new chaps from them, too, since all the chaps I see are wimpy leather and I say "what's the point" if they're not going to do what they're designed to do, right?!

 

LOL I have a thing for leather jackets too. Don't have quite as many as you, but I'm not far behind. Vanson will be my next leather. I'm originally from CT and next time I'm there I'll visit Vanson and get fitted for one of their jackets. I kind of dig the Chopper but will look at others they have there. One of the better leathers I have now is a Fox Creek, but it's a little too long in the front. Would like ti get one that fits better. I could be wrong, but I believe Vanson still makes some of their jackets here in the US.

 

I agree. And where Langlitz makes a great jacket, they're a little long in the tooth as far as styling goes. It would be nice to see them come up with some new designs. Not everyone wants to look like Marlon Brando in the Wild One.

I have a cool old Schott Perfecto I love. And a Vanson Continental Comet I ride almost every day here in L.A. I also have a cool vintage Brooks I got for cheap.

They are all heads and shoulders above the Harley stuff, I have to say. Feels like you are wearing a T-shirt in any one of my jackets, but the leather is thick.

Details like double zippers, well designed collars, etc, really make a huge difference in terms of the job they do and the comfort on the ride.
