Is this a record?
Today we were at the dealer's shop when a man on a Sportster parked his bike.
Hey, said someone, here's the oldest Harley rider of the country.
We came to talk with him, he was very cool and appeared to be 89 years old.
He rides his Sportster every day.

I don't know if it is a record but it is great that he is riding every day. I just hope when/if I reach that age I am in good enough shape to ride a motorcycle every day.

I ride mostly dirt, that means out in the woods, not dirt roads. Last year during an organized trail ride I ran into a 72 yr old guy on a ktm. It was no cake walk getting to where i met up with him. I was Impressed. There is also a rider who must be 73 or 74 now who shows up to ride on a newer suzuki 250. Year before that I was hustling through the woods following a rider at what i thought was a respectable pace. Roots, rocks, water bars all the usual trail junk. When we stopped for a break the dude took off his helmet and had a full head of gray hair. I found out later he was 63. I was 42 at the time and had no desire to go any faster when i was following him!! I can't imagine being on my dirtbike at 63, never mind 72!! There are some tough *** old geezers out there!!

yeah, and I hope I'm one of them at that age. I started on my Harley at 57 and love riding. I'm thinking the body is gonna get older, but the heart and head aren't. I refuse to grow up and get "old."
