RE: How many own an AMF Harley Davidson?
I ran into an older gentleman last weekend and had to ask him about his bike...
He said it was a '72 FLH which he had bought new off the showroom floor in 1972! It had the Harley Davidson AMF logo on the tank and was for the most part still stock. I asked how many miles and after he looked at the odometer, he said, "135,000 and she still has the original motor!" All the while he worked the gas pump and splashed a bit of lead additive in each tank.
He was retired and would take trips lasting several months traveling throughout the country visiting friends and seeing the sights. Really cool old bike and an interesting guy.

I'm the third owner of this 1976 Original Paint FLH and have put over 800 miles on it in the three or four weeeks since I bought it... Here's a pic with more in my signature. It has a solo seat on it now & blackwall tires. I also took the tourpak off..
Went to the Wauseon, Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Swap meet today and there were several goodlooking shovels sitting around for sale. Priced anywhere from $8500. to $13,000.

I had two, a 1977 and a 1979. The '79 was pure junk and I kept it just a year. Traded it straight across for a '79 BMW R-65 equipped with fairing and panniers. That was my last HD until the Ultra I now own.
