I have done this for years and always will.

I still flash my lights to let people know what's ahead of them.
Sometimes you get a thank you wave, others have no clue but hopefully they figure it out.

I try to let others know if there is something ahead. With bikes, I'll pat the top of my head and put my hand out palm down and push down in the classic slow down motion.

Didn't know about the left hand pat...
Had a Uncle and Cousin drive big rigs so I've known about and always blink the lights when they pass for 44yrs..

I flash light in my car to oncoming traffic when there's a speed trap, I don't know how many people pick up on it though. I always appreacite it when someone let's me know of a speed trap, I don't need to give any extra help to the municiple budget.

2004 Serria Red Road King Classic Twincam 88 w/
Stage 1 flash
SE AC
SE 98-B slip-ons w/ Fishtail tips
Rev Tech DFO

It's not the fastest, but at least it sounds like a Harley should and it runs very well.

Doin it for years here too... drove trucks for a while and appreciate the lights to move over... you can get a ticket here for flashing your lights to warn oncoming for speed traps.

It's still common in my neck of the woods to flash em. With the headlights that is. On the car that is.
